Cardiovascular Disease & Chronic Kidney Disease Research Study

Cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease affect around 14 million people in the UK.
This study for a new treatment hopes to help those affected by reducing the risk of experiencing a heart attack, a stroke, or a kidney event such as kidney failure.

If you have a BMI of 27 or higher, have previously experienced an event like a heart attack or stroke and are more at risk of experiencing further events, this study could be of interest to you.

Information about the Study

This study is investigating a treatment aiming to reduce the risk of patients experiencing a major cardiovascular or kidney event, like a heart attack or kidney failure.

Participation in the study will involve taking the study treatment once a week for the duration of the study and will also involve regular visits to one of our clinics in Liverpool or Birmingham.

You will also receive compensation for your study related time and travel.

If you:
  • • Have experienced a heart attack or stroke
  • • Have chronic kidney disease
  • • Have a high BMI (27 or over)
